Which preset pack is right for me?

There are three big packs. All are awesome. Which one should you buy? Lets take a look at what is each one is good for.

The Most Handy Motion Presets

This is the most popular pack. It’s a selection of the most useful motion presets. The selection is based on the most frequently used animations in promotional videos. Of course, the usefulness varies from project to project, but in general, it can cut the time of getting it done to a half, a third or even less.

This pack is for you if:

  • you are producing promotional videos
  • if you often have tough deadlines
  • if you need to be able to make changes quickly

Technical details

The presets can be used with any type of layer (image, shape, solid, composition, etc.) Most of the animations are done using basic transformation properties. Some animations generate Null objects to keep the anchor point in its original place and to make possible the combining of presets.

Author's Note

This is my favourite pack of presets. I think I use these presets the most often. With this I can focus on more creative & fun stuff, rather than doing the same “scale up” or “come from left” over and over again. This also means that I can take more jobs.

3D Motion Presets

If you are working with 3D layers, camera, and would like to create dynamic animations with a lot of movement, this could be the right pack for you.

This pack is for you if:

  • you are producing promotional videos
  • you are working with 3D layers and you like using camera layers
  • you have a tough deadline
  • you need to be able to make changes quickly

Technical details

Works with any 3D layer (text, shape, image, composition, etc). The presets can be customised with sliders. The animations generate Null objects to keep the anchor point in its original place and to make possible the combining of presets.

Author's Note

When I’m working on a 3D video in AE (2D images as 3D layers and camera), I like using these presets because it’s an easy and non-destructive way to make changes. If I used keyframes in all the simple animations, then the changes would be way more difficult. And it’s quick!

2D Text Presets

This is a selection of 1000+ presets for 2D text layers. It covers most forms of 2D text animation, from basic text transitions to more complex stuff.

This pack is for you if:

  • you work with text layers
  • you like animating individual characters, words or lines
  • you want to save time on animating text
  • you want to experiment & try various of different animations on your text

Technical details

The presets only work with text layers. The text is animated using one or more animators & range selectors (a special property of text layers), for which every value can be customised.

Author's Note

I generally use this pack for titles. It’s easy to look up a preset by animated properties, and I can also adjust everything. Creating a text transition using animators & range selectors is often time consuming (unless you are a skilled veteran).
